THE GOSPEL BLESSES FAMILIES...STAYING IN KANAB

Hi All,                                                                                 July 20,2015
Wow time flies!!!!!!
hard to even believe I have been on a mission for 6 months already.
And I'm staying in Kanab!!  YEA!
with Sister Pugmire!  I'm so happy that I'm staying because
I feel like I have more work I need to do!!!! I just can't leave
yet!!  And this week is Pioneer Day and I'm super excited for that!!
(we have a service opportunity cutting watermelons at the Pioneer Day Picnic, and y'all know how good I am at cutting watermelons!!!  :)  I’m sure
we will talk to tons of people.

This week one of our investigators got baptized!!! He was
definitely one of the younger ones that we are teaching...but the cool
part is that his brother got to baptize him!!  It was awesome!
yes, we do get the opportunity to teach a lot of children here
in Utah... sometimes I think I was called here to learn how to teach children!
Haha, and I have learned a lot!

Well it has rained a bunch lately...crazy right!? I never thought I
would see this much rain here in the dessert!  Ha. But that hasn't
stopped the work from progressing!  We actually met this new
investigator who we are excited to teach. He is older and his name is
Jim. It was actually funny how we met him... We got a referral to
knock on the house with the "solar panels".  And so we knocked on the
first house we saw with solar panels and it was Jim and he invited us
to come back and we started teaching him!  But the funny thing is that
that house wasn't even the right "solar panel" house!  Ha but hey it
worked out nicely!  He even came to the baptism of Cole!! ...except he
was an hour late...but the fact that he showed up was a miracle!!
Even if he did miss the baptism!  We were so happy he came.
We are going to teach him the lesson on the Plan of
Salvation tonight which I'm excited about because his wife had passed
away and he has a lot of questions about the purpose of life. I feel like we will
be able to answer a lot of his questions he has about that and I know
that he will feel the spirit tonight!  It will be a great lesson.

We are also teaching this new family who just moved to Orderville!!!   The
father is less active but the daughter and mother know nothing about
the church!  We had dinner with them and a really spiritual lesson.
The daughter is super interested and wants to be baptized,
which is awesome but our real hope is that we
can bring the whole family in to the gospel together!!  Cause I know that's what
Heavenly Father wants for them! Families are so important!!! I have
never appreciated the importance of the gospel in the family until my
mission. It is so CRUCIAL to have the gospel in our homes. It makes such
a difference… the joy and spirit and love it can bring into the home.

The gospel blesses families! I  LOVE MY JOB!

GO FORWARD WITH FAITH                                                        6/13/15

We were sitting in sacrament meeting and the opening hymn was
“Go Forth with Faith"
The words in that song are beautiful!!!! Especially the second verse;

2. Go forth with love to tell the world
The joy of families--
That we may be with those we love
Thru all eternity.
Go forth to serve and do your best
With no thought of reward;
Then you shall know the boundless joy
Of serving Christ, the Lord.

That's the goal! To help families be happy and together forever!!! We
have this one family we are teaching. They don't always commitments and
they don’t always seem interested or wanting to change much to have the gospel in their lives. But they are  willing to have us come.
So… we had a lesson with them this week and I could feel
Heavenly Fathers love for them so strongly!!! It was undeniable. This family is super
special and I can see them one day all dressed in white being sealed
as a family for time and all eternity. It will require a lot of patience
on our part but I know that is Heavenly Fathers plan for them...I just know
it!

We also drove up to Duck Creek and taught another lesson to Mike. He is super
interested in learning about the church, and so ready for baptism!!!
We decided we would read through the baptism
interview questions with him, and he realized that he was way more ready than he thought he was. I am so happy for him.

We had a busy week for sure and for 3 days we had another mini
missionary (17 year old girl come live with us for 3 days to see what it’s like to be a missionary.)  and that was a great experience for her, and for us.

We have a baptism this Saturday that we are excited about and we are teaching some new people we have met.
Things are really busy here in Kanab!. Prayer is a powerful thing.
I feel so much love for the people here and I will be heartbroken when
I have to leave.
So many great things happened this week..I wish I could write it all
down!  But the spirt was super strong and the Lord is with us every
step of the way. So many people are struggling and going through
trials but they can always come to the light of Christ to get out of
darkness.  Just like Alma the younger was in the "darkest abyss; but
now I behold the marvelous light of God"
The light of Christ can change lives!!!!! I LOVE MY JOB!

Love yall,  Sister Titensor

ABBRA ‘KANAB’RA , HAPPY FORTH OF JULY

Hey sorry I am writing late, we went to the Grand Canyon this morning!! I love all the pictures looks like your having fun In Park City.
I was sitting in relief society yesterday and this mother and daughter were dying laughing in front of me during the closing song! (Sound familiar Mom?) haha I couldn't help but laugh.
…Oh… I was wondering why brad and Erin were in the pictures!...crazy. I hope Brad is doing okay. Give grandpa my love!
The fourth was way fun in Kanab !! And super packed with tourists! Here's a video! They did a cute show at the park.

Lots happened this week! I don't even know where to start!!!
Tuesday we had exchanges and I got to be with Sister Lipke (my companion from Germany) for a day!!!! I went to work in the St George Visitor’s Center with her!  It was way fun, just like old times!!!  While in the visitors center I even got to wear the American flag with my name tag (super official !!)

This week found 3 new investigators!!!! One of them is Tim. He is a character!  So fun. He had a stroke and had brain surgery not too long ago so his speech is pretty rough, but he is awesome. The way we met him is actually pretty funny. He always sits outside these apartments where we go visit people. So we walk by and we talk to him and his buddy every time we walk by (which is pretty much every day!) and we finally started teaching him! But we are still working on his buddy James... Tim wants the gospel so bad in his life. He thinks he only has about 2 years to live and he knows he is still alive for a reason!  Pretty cool huh?

Oh and we met a man who gave Mother Theresa a Book of Mormon!!!! Amazing story! he has to tell..wish I had time to type it..sorry!

Fourth of July was super fun here in Kanab. We did a bunch of service and then on Saturday we started out the morning by helping throw colored chalk at runners for the 5K Color Run! Ahh that was so fun. We were covered with red and blue chalk by the end. Then after several showers of getting the chalk off...we went to the park and helped out at this booth selling "Abba Kanabra" stuff (ha pretty clever huh?)  we did that most of the day.  The weather was perfect and we talked to tons of people!!  Then in the evening we helped serve cake for the dinner at a huge party at the park.  We had to head home just as the fireworks were starting...so sad.   But it was an eventful day!

Sadly no investigators came to church...super sad. But I love Sunday's because we go to church from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM so we can to go to all the wards! It's the best cause it's the one time you can just relax and feel the spirit!
We have a great week ahead of us. We have met some great people we know are prepared for the gospel. The Lord is preparing them as we speak! I'm so grateful for this gospel in my life. It can change lives...and it's because we have a loving savior…

Mosiah 14:4-5
4 Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

I love my job
