                     HAPPY EASTER
“…and whosoever will come, him will I receive

Well howdy!                                                                 3/28/16

It's been an interesting week here in Beaver Utah! Spring break
started so a lot of people are out of town. Most of the people we are working with
are doing well.  We sadly are no longer teaching Jim. He said he no
longer wanted us to come. It's always sad when that happens but
sometimes it's just not the right time for people
We did have a miracle happen though!  Every Wednesday night we are at
the family history center helping recent converts and investigators do
their family history. This week a random nonmember showed up!  His name
is Tracy and he had met with missionaries a while back.  He just showed up
to family history and said he wants to start meeting with us again and
be baptized!  So that was exciting!!
A group of recent converts and
less actives that we have been working with are going to the Manti
temple tomorrow to do baptisms. The coolest part is that they
found their own family names!  Unfortunately we don't get to go. But we are
excited for all of the people that get to go for the first time!!!

We were invited to help at the City Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday!!  They had us
throw tons of candy out on the baseball fields for the kids to get. It's was
really funny because we were throwing out tons and tons of candy!  A
while back a semi full of chocolate crashed in Beaver. Because it
crashed, the candy was no lover sellable. So the people and the city
of Beaver got all this candy! So they used that for the Easter egg
hunt. So we were throwing out 12 packs of chocolate on the field!  Ha
needless to say...the kids were super happy!

Easter Sunday was a great day. It was a great opportunity to remember
out Savior Jesus Christ.  I love the Christus statue at the Visitors
Center in St George. A statue of Christ, standing there with his arms open wide
towards us. It's such a powerful message of love and hope.

"Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal
life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever
will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto
me." (3 Nephi 9:14)

PROVO TEMPLE DEDICATION, KELLY was BAPTIZED!

Well it's been a good week!

We had some great lessons and are teaching
some prepared people! We got a new investigator this week. His name is
Jim and the Spanish elders found him while knocking on doors! He is
all alone with no family and he really wants to get his life back in
order. He struggles with a lot of different addictions but it's neat
to testify of the strength and power that comes through Jesus Christ!
He is doing good though!

We have also been teaching this 7 year old boy names Luis.
He wanted to go to church because his friends all go.
Both his parents not members of our church, so he will be the
first member in his family!  It’s cool to see his faith grow as he goes
to church every week. He turns 8 this week and was supposed to get
baptized on Saturday. But we had to push the date back a little
because they will be out of town. But he is a fun/ funny kid and I'm
excited to see how he grows in this gospel!

We have also been working with one of our recent converts a lot. Her
name is Jasmine and she was baptized right before I came to Beaver. Her
whole family was baptized a little before her.  Jasmine is our age
and she has been through a lot in her life. It's great to see how much
joy the gospel has brought her!  We see her almost every day for a
lesson or lunch or sometimes she will even go visit our investigators
with us!  We have a lot of fun with her.

And a few weeks ago...Kelly from my last area was baptized!!!!  And I
finally got the picture from it!  He is a big guy  and  he has such a big
heart!  Apparently the water heater at the church broke so he was
baptized in freezing cold water!  Dang, I wish I could have been there!
But I was told the spirit was strong and that Kelly bore a powerful
testimony!  Kelly is living proof that people can change through
the atonement of Christ.

Yesterday we had the privilege to watch a broadcast of the Provo City
Center temple dedication! I t was the first dedication I have ever seen
and it was really awesome. The talks were powerful and the spirit
was strong!!  The Provo City Center temple is the 150th temple
dedicated!  How neat is that? It's amazing to see the growth of this
wonderful gospel. It's spreading joy to people all around the world.
More and more people get to hear the message of Jesus Christ!!

I'm excited for Easter and the opportunity we have to remember Him. The
new Easter video that the church has put out is super good! You can
find it on https://www.mormon.org/easter . We get to show that video
to a lot of people and testify of our savior Jesus Christ! What can be
better than that?

I have the best job in the world!
Love y'all and Happy Easter!

A VISIT TO RICHFIELD…”blessed and happy state”
 Visiting with Royal in Richfield...

Well not too much happened this week so this will be short! I spent
all week in bed because I caught some weird flu that is going around.
But no worries I'm alive!   The few people that we did see this week are
doing well. And we got a miracle phone call for a guy who wants to
start taking missionary lessons and be baptized!  I'm excited to meet
him!

One exciting part of this week is we had to go to Richfield!  Richfield
was my first area and I hadn't been there in almost a year!! We had to
go to get an iPad fixed and while we were there we went and visited some
people that I taught . We got to see Derrick who was baptized almost a
year ago.  he is doing really good and preparing for the the temple! We
also got to see Royal  the older gentleman who was baptized last January, he is
preparing for temple as well. We also got to see some other members
and it was really good to be back in my old area for a day. It's
amazing to see when people really grasp the gospel and continue to
grow on their own..especially,  when the missionaries stop visiting
them. They are on the course to a life of joy and happiness through
living the gospel!

" And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the
blessed and ahappy state of those that keep the commandments of God.
For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and
spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received
into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of
never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are
true; for the Lord God hath spoken it."

MINI MIRACLES…a family from Thailand!... a guy from Samoa.
a family in the park...“I know that He loveth his children”

It was another good week here in Beaver!                                        3/7/16
Our investigators  awesome and are doing really well.
We have another baptism date set for April!

The other night we met a new, really neat family. We knocked on their door
and they straightaway let us in.  It was this cute little family from
Thailand!! The parent didn't speak much English but the daughter is a
sophomore in high school so she did!  We talked to them for a while and
it turns out they met with missionaries a while back!  And they love
going to church...we talked about how much the gospel blesses
families. The daughter (her name is Lou) started to get emotional. We
asked her if she knew if the church was true and with tears in her
eyes she said yes...she knew it was true!  She said she knew it by the
way she felt/feels especially when she reads the Book of Mormon and prays.
The spirit was strong. They are a sweet family and they are excited
for us to come back!

Wednesday night we got to take our recent convert to do family
history!  She is our age and she LOVES family history. Its funny how
much she gets into it. But she has a lot of names so we get to go with
her to the Manti temple in a few weeks to do baptisms!!  My testimony
and love of family history has grown so much. It's the best!

Thursday was a great day..we made a goal to talk to everyone we see as
we are walking.  That's a hard thing in Utah because most of the
people are members of the church ..but we still did it. And so we
first see this guy on the sidewalk with a green Mohawk talking to
another guy in a car through the rolled down window. I was not going
to say anything to them cause it was just plain awkward!  But my
companion decided to compliment his green mohawk.  And boom! A
conversation started, mostly because they saw that we were missionaries.
The Mohawk guy wasn't a member and the guy in the car was a less
Active member. We ended up having a really good conversation with the less
active guy. His name is Jake and he is from Samoa! He really opened up
to us and said that Heavenly Father placed us in his path because he
really wants to turn his life around and come back to church! How cool
is that?!

Then later that same day we saw this young couple with a baby at the park
and so we went up and talked to them. The man had just moved here from
California and the girl was visiting him for the weekend. It was weird
because they didn't know anything at all about Mormons and they had no clue
what missionaries were..which is rare to find here in Utah!  But that
led to them asking questions and Esmerelda straight up asked what we
believed. So we were able to teach them about the restoration there on a park
bench. They asked a lot of really good questions and Esmerelda really opened
up to us about how she is searching for the truth. As we invited them
to read the Book of Mormon and pray, she had tears in her eyes. She is
unfortunately back in California now but I know that Heavenly Father
led us to them. He knew that they were searching so he placed them in
our path. Our father in heaven is so aware of each of us. I see it
every day!

"I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the
meaning of all things." (1 Nephi 11:17). I know we have a loving Father in
Heaven and that is the simple truth we must cling to.

Love y'all
