A Different City Every Day!!

https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/images/cleardot.gif
Well this week we were all over the place!   Monday we started off the week by doing some awesome hiking in Kanab. It’s seriously beautiful!!

Tuesday we started off the day here in Kanab by doing service with some ladies in the stake by making quilts. Then the rest of the day we had appointments to teach and then we met some new people in the afternoon.
Wednesday we spent the day in Orderville.  We have some solid people that we are teaching in Orderville!   Especially this man named Tarrence. He is so prepared to hear the gospel. He always wants specific chapters in the Book of Mormon to read about specific things. Then he will text us about how amazing the Book of Mormon is and how much he is learning from it. He truly wants to know these things for himself.  He reads the Book of Mormon every day before work which is an example to all of us!!

Thursday we drove to Hurricane for district meeting which was really good.  Then right after our meeting,   I had to go to St. George with Sister Archambaut for exchanges.  We went straight to the Visitors Center at the St George Temple for the whole evening!!   It was so interesting to be there. That night, they had 5 French tour busses come in so… Sister Archambaut (who speaks French) gave all these French tours. And I (who don’t speak French, except for high school)   got to watch.  It was fun to see so many people visiting from France. . And it was nice to be in a “big” city for a while! ha.

Then Friday morning we went back to work at the Visitors Center for half the day. It was slower that morning, but we got to explain some things about the temple to some nonmembers a couple of times!   It was way fun to be there and meet new people.  Two people from Austria had a lot of hard questions about the church; it was way cool to visit with them and try to answer some of their questions.  Then later that afternoon we went and did some proselyting in Washington City (which is right outside St George.) That area is allot like Flower Mound.  We did not have as much success finding people to talk to listen to.  But it was a good experience. Then that night I drove back to Kanab!

So Friday morning we had to leave again to go all the way to Alton. Some less active members we were teaching that were getting married. So we got to go to a wedding! Alton had an amazing ward so we got to get to know some of the members there. It was great. Then we spent the rest of the day in Alton contacting people. We met this amazing nonmember couple who have done SO MUCH family history!! It’s seriously shocking!!   We are going to start teaching them. I know their ancestors must be rooting for them because they want their temple work done!  Seriously...the amount of work they could do it amazing. They are a great couple and I am super excited to work with them!

Then Sunday we spent the day back in Orderville. People came to church!! so that was good!   We also taught Tarrence again. Im not going to lie...but it probably wasn’t our best lesson!!...let’s just say there were some distractions….. haha.  But since Tarrence is so amazing, he didn’t even notice!  He was so focused on the lesson and was asking great questions!!   Despite the situation he still felt the spirit, which I was so grateful for...thank goodness!!!

Overall, It was another great week here!  I’m not going to lie, it can be discouraging and hard work at times. Sometimes it even seems impossible.  But I know there is a reason that my companion and I are here. I have learned that if we don't rely on the Lord and the spirit, things are way harder.  I’m grateful that the spirit is the guide, and we are never left on our own.  This is the Lords work!

And, I do have to say that… I love my job!!

Love yall

FINDING MIRACLES!                                 5/11/15

This week was amazing here in Kanab! So Many Miracles!  We found 5 new investigators this week and it was all because the Lord put them in our path!
The first person we met, he was randomly walking on the street and we drove by him 3 different times and then we finally pulled over and talked to him. It was super awkward but it worked out because he needs the gospel so bad!  We were meant to meet him. We have taught him a couple of times now and he is doing great.

Then right after we met him, we went to an appointment with our 9 year old investigator. We assumed both his parents were members of our church, just less active.  But then we start talking about baptism, and all the sudden his step dad says,
"I have a question, how can I be baptized?" We were shocked!  We had no clue that he wasn’t already a member and we had been teaching him and his son this whole time! So now he wants to get baptized with his son!  super exciting. We did not see that coming!!

Then later this week, we went to an addiction recovery class that the LDS church does. It is an amazing class and we go to support some of the people that we teach. While there we met some people that want to know more about the church. So we talked to them for a while and BAM!  2 more investigators. We weren't even going to go to the class but we decided to at the last minute and I am so grateful that we did!!  They are great people and are excited to learn more, and we are excited to teach them.

The on mother’s day, we had dinner with a group of people at a bed and breakfast.  So after dinner we were talking with this man about the gospel and how it can change and bring joy into your life. The spirit was so strong when we were talking to him. He wants to feel that joy in his life and in his family. So we found yet another person to teach!!

This week was amazing and I know the Lord put us exactly in the places that we needed to be at the exact right moment. There are so many people here in Kanab that could benefit from the gospel in their lives. We have found some of them, but I know that there are even more out there. I have faith that we will continue to find people to teach. I have seen miracles and I know it is because Heavenly Father loves his children and wants the best for them. I am so excited for things to come!  Sister Glaus is a great companion. We know how to work hard and how to have fun while doing it! (cause both are important haha)
This gospel is so true and I love my job!!

Thanks for everything!

CUTEST LITTLE TOWN AND A NEW COMPANION!!

Image result for KANAB UTAH PICTURES

Well , I said all my goodbyes to the great people of Richfield! (That was sad)
It took about all day driving, but I finally arrived in Kanab!   It’s seriously in the middle of nowhere!  There is not even a Wal-Mart…just a little store.  But, we are surrounded by 3 national parks... and it’s BEAUTIFUL!  So we will have some great P-days coming up!  Kanab is basically a little tourist town. A bunch a tour busses come here and everyone is getting ready for the busy summer season. We cover the entire Kanab Stake- which includes Half of Kanab, then we have two small towns about 30 minutes away (Glendale and Orderville) Then we have another small town (Alton) which is an hour away. So we do a ton of driving.  We also have to drive an hour and a half once a week to Hurricane for district meeting.  We will get to see a lot of Utah and Arizona! Oh and the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is here, and the Western Movie Museum so that brings in a lot of people to town..yay!
My new companion is Sister Glaus from Tampa. She is waiting for her visa because she was actually called to Brazil! It’s funny cause this is her 2nd transfer and this is only my 3rd so we are both basically new!  But its way fun...it keeps things interesting!  We laugh a lot!
The other day we had no appointments (because we don’t know anybody yet) and it was in the heat, in the middle of the day and we knew there were probably not many people home...but we tried knocking on random doors. It’s amazing peoples different points of views. One man we met was just plain crazy. But a few doors down, we met a really humble man who was from out of town. For the first time in a while, we talked to someone who knew nothing about our church!! It was the best! He actually listened to us! He just stood at his door as we testified of Christ. It was awesome. Unfortunately he is only visiting here, but we left him with a Book of Mormon and a way to contact the missionaries where he lives!  All I know is that we planted the seed and we may never know how it turns out. But I know there is power in sharing testimonies!!!
Kanab had stake conference here Sunday and it was awesome. Our Mission President was there, the ST George Temple President was there and The President of BYU was there (Kevin Worthen I think?)      It was a great meeting centered on Christ.

Well Kanab is the cutest little town and I know there is a great work to do here. The Lord wants me here for a reason; I’m excited to find those people who want the gospel in their lives. It’s amazing how much the members make a difference. They can be really helpful! We NEED them. I’m looking forward to being here in Kanab, and I have a feeling I will be serving here for a while. Ha!  I LOVE MY JOB!

Thanks for everything! Love ya’ll!
